Visit Arad Part 4: A list of the main museum attractions in Arad

 

With a history going back to the 11th century, Arad is one of the largest cities in Crisana, a historic-geographic region of Romania. With a small ruined fortress located in the middle of the Town, Arad is a large centre of cultures and traditions. If you’re planning a visit, here’s a list with a few of the museum attractions in Arad.

Alfa Gallery

The Alfa Gallery can be found on the Revolution Boulevard no. 90. The visiting hours are Monday to Thursday, 9am to 3pm. Here you can admire various art expositions. Students and professionals bring their work here to show it to the world.

 

Arad Museum Complex Art Department

 

The Arad Art Museum can be found in the Museum Complex in Arad on the second floor. The Complex is located on the street Gheorghe Popa Teius no. 2-4. Here you can admire temporarr as well as permanent art exhibitions.

                                       

 

 

 

Arad Museum Complex History Department

 

To access the History department visitors must use the entrance situated at the Dragalina Boulevard. The History as well as archaeology departments is composed of 15 exhibition rooms and can be found on the first and second floor of the Complex.

 

 

 

 

Arad Museum Complex Natural Sciences Department

 

The access to the Natural Science Department is through the entrance at the Children Park. This section of the Museum complex is composed of four exhibition rooms. Here you can see for yourself many exhibitions including space exploration, pale-ontological collections and many more.

 

Carola’s Gallery

 

Carola’s Gallery is located on the street Vasile Goldis no. 1-3. The visiting hours are Monday to Friday 11am to 7pm and Saturday from 11am to 3pm. Here you can admire numerous art exhibitions. There are very few information about this gallery online, so you will need to visit the gallery to see more.

 

 

 

Clio Gallery

 

The Clio Gallery is hosting art exhibitions since 1984.You can find the gallery on the street Gheorghe Popa no. 2-4. Here you can see paintings created by important European artists.

 

 

 

Delta Gallery

With three major events of Arad artistic life: The International Biennial Drawing Saloon, The Biennial Small Sculpture Saloon, The Annual Art Saloon. Through this gallery, Arad has become a great representative of Contemporary Romanian Art.

 

 

Doina and Baruțu Arghezi Art Collection

At this gallery people can admire over 700 art pieces from the VII, VIII and IX Centuries. The collection can be found at the Vasile Goldis University in the department of modern language.

 

 

Expo Arad International

 

Expo Arad International is a place where you can always see something different. There are all kind of events such as expositions, workshops and even art exhibitions. Expo Arad is established on “Calea Aurel Vlaicu”.

 

 

Takács Gallery

 

This is a special place dedicated to Art. Here you can admire a wide variety of arts. The gallery is based on Street Lucian Blaga in Arad. Visiting hours are Monday to Saturday from 11am to 6pm.

 

Vasile Goldiș Memorial Museum

 

This is a museum dedicated entirely to Vasile Goldiș At the museum you can admire, letters, documents and others. The museum is also known as The Romanian Palace (palatul Romanul) and is located on the street Vasile Goldis no. 18.

 

 

 

Water Tower Gallery

 

The water Tower was built in 1896 and it is one of the most beautiful places to see in Arad. It can be visited by the public, Tuesday to Sunday from 9am to 5pm. The gallery holds numerous art exhibitions.
